Wool carpets

Wool is a natural fibre and without a doubt, the most prominently used material in carpet making. Ever since the first carpets were knotted wool has been one of the most preferred and sought after materials in carpet making. Still today wool has many unparalleled characteristics that synthetics strive to compete with.
Not only is it a natural fiber, but also a renewable one that grows on freely grazing sheep that are shorn every 9-12 months. The fibre structure is unique and has a protective layer of cells that are shaped like overlapping roof tiles. This makes wool a very durable material that perfectly withstands the wear and tear of daily life whilst also being easy to maintain and keep clean.
Wool carpets are naturally dirt repellant and the waxy coating of the wool fibres make them water and stain resistant as well as flame resistant due to the high protein and moisture content.
The fibres are characteristically curly and the pile of the carpet always rises and regains its shape when allowed to do so with nothing obstructing it. Since wool is also hypo-allergenic it does not promote the growth of bacteria and or dust mites.
A wool carpet provides excellent sound absorption, is soft and comfortable to walk on and has great heat insulating properties.
Browse through our selection of wool carpets to find the right carpet for your home and your needs. Whether you are looking for a thick plush pile soft wool carpet for your living room or a thinner and more practical wool carpet for your kitchen, there are countless colours and styles to choose from.
