Kilim Patchwork

Kilim Patchwork carpets are an innovative way of reviving older hand-woven kilims. Some of these older kilims have certain areas that are beyond repair and some might otherwise have been destined to be thrown away. These kilims are carefully selected, washed and cut into smaller pieces before being assembled again like a puzzle.

Colour and design are coordinated to form a harmonic composition of kilim pieces that are then stitched together by hand using a sturdy yarn. To provide extra strength and support, a buckram and cotton cloth backside is sewn on to the carpet. A Kilim Patchwork carpet is a unique work of art that sews together cultures, traditions and history in a fashionable and stylish way.

*It is not uncommon that a Colored Vintage/Patchwork carpet may gradually lose parts of the original characteristic color impression, which will further enhance the carpets unique vintage look. Exposure to direct sunlight may speed up the process, so we recommend turning the carpet from time to time to ensure an even and beautiful effect.
