Description
Lori loom carpets are woven by hand in Bhadohi, India using an innovative weaving technique. In traditional hand-knotting, the carpet knots are tied around the foundation of the carpet resulting in an elevated pile whereas this modern weaving technique simply incorporates fiber strands between the vertical threads of the loom - just as in a flat weave carpet. The difference is that rods are placed across the loom in order to weave loops. These loops then form the pile of the carpet giving it the same appearance as a hand-knotted carpet. Whilst this weaving technique only allows for the creation of carpets with plain or simple geometric patterns, it allows the weaver to work efficiently and methodically. Without having to compromise the quality, the end result is a price-worthy and affordable carpet. The wool used is of very good quality making the carpets a popular alternative to other hand-knotted counterparts. Lori loom carpets are soft to walk on and also durable and sturdy - perfectly suited for use in frequently trafficked areas of your home or office space. These carpets are a great way of adding colour, warmth and personality to the room and space in which they are placed.
