These carpets are eco-friendly, state-of-the-art masterpieces. The carpets feature timeless, intricate patterns and vibrant colour combinations.
The pile is composed of sari silk that comes from recycled silk saris garments and the entire process, from the unraveling of the silk strands in the saris, to the re-spinning and the knotting of the carpet, is meticulously carried out by hand. Since sari garments can be made up of up to an impressive 50 shades of a single colour, these carpets naturally acquire a unique appearance and design with both variation and depth without ever having to be re-dyed.
Sari silk carpets can be found with either an entirely pure sari silk pile or with a mix of wool and sari silk where the unraveled silk threads are fortified with wool before being re-spun and knotted into a carpet.
These carpets have become extremely fashionable and sought after due to their soft and lustrous appearance and durability. Whilst a tone-in-tone Sari silk carpet will instantly adorn the floor or setting in which it is placed and create a warm and inviting feel, the most colourful examples create a stunning feast for the eyes.
As the name suggests, these pieces of art are made of pure silk and are particularly finely knotted and unique in their quality, clarity and delicacy.
