Lori Patina

Lori carpets are knotted by the nomadic Lurs tribe in the mountainous region of Loristan in South Western Iran.

The artistic expression is highly representative and synonymous with Persian tribal carpet art weaving. These carpets often depict animal motifs and repetitive geometric figures and are highly sought after on today’s market.

Featuring stunning colour combinations of rich and vibrant shades of red, blue, green, yellow and orange, the carpets are made using superior wool from the Lurish shepherds own sheep.

Patina

Our collection of Patina carpets is comprised of older Persian carpets that all show signs of natural wear and ageing. The carpets are carefully selected with the intention of preserving their cultural heritage and breathing new life into them. All our Patina carpets are washed before undergoing a thorough inspection. If any signs of damage are found these are attended to, and if the pile is unevenly trimmed it is gently polished down to achieve an even pile and add a natural sheen to the carpet.

The result is a one-of-a-kind carpet that still possesses all the qualities of an older hand-knotted carpet. A beautiful carpet with a genuine feel that has intentionally been allowed to retain a distinct patina appearance: to be discovered and admired by yet another generation to come.
