Meimeh carpets are knotted by hand in the city of Meymeh, located in the Isfahan province of Iran. The carpets are crafted using high quality wool and cotton, which makes them durable and long-lasting.
The weaving process involves skilled artisans who use traditional techniques to create intricate patterns and designs. One of the most distinguishing features of Meimeh carpets is their use of the Herati pattern. This pattern typically features a central diamond shape with curved leaves, flowers and fish surrounding it. The Herati pattern is used in many different colour combinations, including red, blue and beige.
Meimeh carpets are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts and considered to be some of the finest Persian carpets available. Their intricate designs, high knot density and rich colours make them a beautiful and durable addition to any home or space in which they are placed.
Patina
Our collection of Patina carpets is comprised of older Persian carpets that all show signs of natural wear and ageing. The carpets are carefully selected with the intention of preserving their cultural heritage and breathing new life into them. All our Patina carpets are washed before undergoing a thorough inspection. If any signs of damage are found these are attended to, and if the pile is unevenly trimmed it is gently polished down to achieve an even pile and add a natural sheen to the carpet.
The result is a one-of-a-kind carpet that still possesses all the qualities of an older hand-knotted carpet. A beautiful carpet with a genuine feel that has intentionally been allowed to retain a distinct patina appearance: to be discovered and admired by yet another generation to come.
