Nestled halfway between Isfahan and Shiraz in Iran lies the city of Abadeh.
Abadeh carpets were historically sold to the Qashqai nomads during their seasonal migrations and Abadeh weavers fetched much of their inspiration from the Qashqai tribes who had their summer pastures in the area.
The carpets typically feature a large diamond pattern in the middle with smaller diamond like patterns in each corner. The field is often decorated with figural elements such as birds, trees and flowers and can be found in many exciting colour combinations. The most typical being red/brown nuances with blue tones.
Abadeh carpets have a short wool pile which makes them very stable and durable, suitable for frequented areas such as hallways and entrances.
Abadeh carpets decorate homes worldwide and are appreciated for their good quality, beautiful patterns and colour combinations.
