Lori carpets are knotted by the nomadic Lurs tribe in the mountainous region of Loristan in South Western Iran. Lori carpets are some of the finest examples of tribal carpets available and due to the geographical remoteness and inaccessibility, the weaving traditions remain highly untouched without any influences from the outside world. The artistic expression is highly representative and synonymous with Persian tribal carpet art weaving. These carpets often depict animal motifs and repetitive geometric figures and are highly sought after on today’s market.
