Description
Pakistan Bokhara carpets are some of the most appreciated and well-known of all Pakistani carpets. The simple and harmonious patterns and the timeless elegance in these carpets make them a popular choice for home owners around the world. The carpets have a luxurious feel to them and are usually made from high quality Australian or New Zealand wool which makes them extremely soft and shiny as well as very durable.
The carpets are found in many different colours such as green, blue, black and beige with red being the most common.
The carpets mostly feature the classical elephant foot or the octagonal Tekke gul pattern, both inspired by traditional Turkamen carpet design.
Pakistan Bokhara carpets carry a quality denomination called ”ply” which refers to the number of strands wrapped together to produce the yarn thread. 2ply carpets have two and 3ply carpets have three strands wrapped around each other to make up the yarn thread.
3ply carpets have a higher knot density and are generally slightly thicker and more dense than 2ply carpets, which are by no means to be considered inferior in terms of quality.
All in all Pakistan Bokhara carpets are elegant and functional carpets, perfectly suitable for everyday use and sure to age beautifully if properly cared for.
