Yalameh

Yalameh carpets are knotted by the nomads of the Yalameh tribe in the Fars province of Iran. They are made with locally-sourced wool and natural dyes, which lend them their vibrant and long-lasting colours. The designs are typically geometric, featuring intricate patterns inspired by the region's history and folklore. The characteristic She Hoze motif, composed of three hexagonal medallions arranged vertically and filled with motifs such as animals and stars, is typically used in these carpets.

Yalameh carpets are knotted with the Turkish (symmetric) knot and tend to have a shorter pile making them easy to keep clean and maintain. They are renowned for their exquisite craftsmanship and unique character and often feature a woolen foundation (warp) and a woolen pile.
