Zanjan Patina (Fragment)

Zanjan carpets are knotted by hand in the Zanjan region of northern Iran. The carpets typically feature geometric patterns and centrally placed diamond medallions. They come in a variety of colour combinations, often featuring bold colours, with reds, blues and greens being the most common. Patina

Our collection of Patina carpets is comprised of older Persian carpets that all show signs of natural wear and ageing. The carpets are carefully selected with the intention of preserving their cultural heritage and breathing new life into them. All our Patina carpets are washed before undergoing a thorough inspection. If any signs of damage are found these are attended to, and if the pile is unevenly trimmed it is gently polished down to achieve an even pile and add a natural sheen to the carpet.

The result is a one-of-a-kind carpet that still possesses all the qualities of an older hand-knotted carpet. A beautiful carpet with a genuine feel that has intentionally been allowed to retain a distinct patina appearance: to be discovered and admired by yet another generation to come.

Fragment

A fragment carpet is a great way of salvaging and reviving the undamaged parts of older, handknotted carpets. Instead of simply discarding the whole carpet, these fragments are carefully selected and transformed into unique, fashionable pieces of art.
