The art of carpet-making has been part of the history and culture of nomads and villagers for many thousand years. The carpets were initially made for various purposes in the everyday life of the nomads.  They could be used as tent underlays, saddlebags, blankets or decorative accessories. Nomad carpets are made under rather modest and more primitive conditions which gives the carpets a rustic and personal charm. The weaver often fetches inspiration from their everyday nomadic lifestyle and their natural surroundings. The result is a great variety of carpets with plenty of room for artistic expression. Nomad carpets are very popular and add a personal, cosy warmth and beautiful contrast to minimalistic modern interiors.
